Before I present you a simple and very tasty recipe for hummus, a few words about Omani cuisine and the local breakfast. <\/p>\n\n\n<a href=\"#wprm-recipe-container-1962\" data-recipe=\"1962\" style=\"color: #333333;\" class=\"wprm-recipe-jump wprm-recipe-link wprm-jump-to-recipe-shortcode wprm-block-text-normal\">Jump to Recipe<\/a>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Omani cuisine<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Omani cuisine has Arabic and Indian influences in particular. The staple food is rice, which is often served with chicken, fish or lamb. In Oman, oriental spices, herbs and marinades are used for preparation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oriental <em>Mezze <\/em>(starters) such as <em>Falafel <\/em>(deep-fried balls made from chickpeas),<em> Baba Ganoush<\/em> (dip made from eggplant and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tahina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Tahin<\/em><\/a>), <em>Muhamara <\/em>(spicy seasoning paste made from peppers and walnuts) or <em>Tabouleh<\/em> (a light salad with bulgur, tomatoes and parsley). It is a large platter of exotic spiced rice topped with marinated meat or fish. Optionally, you can also add vegetables, nuts and\/or raisins to the rice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another classic (festival) food in Oman is <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tasteatlas.com\/shuwa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shuwa<\/a><\/em>: This is marinated meat (usually: lamb) that is wrapped in banana leaves or palm leaves and cooked in an earth oven for up to two days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A very popular sweet is<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/arabiya.de\/halwa-eine-suessigkeit-aus-dem-nahen-osten\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Halwa<\/a><\/em>. <em>Halwa<\/em> is a very sweet and sticky mass made from sugar, nuts, dried fruits and spices such as saffron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People very often serve <em>dates<\/em>. Like <em>Halwa<\/em>, they are a symbol of hospitality.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Breakfast<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A traditional and rich breakfast in Oman includes <strong>Hummus, <\/strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mutabbal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mutabal<\/a><\/em> (eggplant puree), <a href=\"https:\/\/breakfast-world.com\/en\/e-wie-egypt-foul\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Foul<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>(bean puree), <em><a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Laban_(Milchprodukt)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Labneh<\/a><\/em> (cream cheese), yogurt, egg dishes, olives and, of course, flatbread. Of course, fresh fruits and dates also belong on the breakfast table. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian dishes such as chickpea curry, <em>Dhaal<\/em> (lentil curry) and <em>Roti<\/em> (Indian flatbread) are also eaten in the morning in Oman. If you like it sweet, you should try <em>Sweet Vermicelli <\/em>(<em>Semyia<\/em>. These are vermicelli noodles cooked in milk and flavored with sugar, cardamom, nutmeg, saffron, cinnamon and nuts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especially hotels, also offer bread, butter, honey, jam, sausage, cheese, cornflakes and several warm dishes that correspond to the \"English Breakfast\". <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Hummus<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hummus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Hummus<\/strong><\/a> (Arabic: chickpea) consists, as the name suggests, of creamy, pureed chickpeas. Other ingredients are tahini, olive oil, garlic, cumin, lemon juice, pepper and salt. Usually <strong>Hummus<\/strong> is served with flatbread and other <em>Mezze<\/em>. I like <strong>Hummus <\/strong>as spread with wholemeal bread or as a dip with vegetable sticks. <strong>Hummus <\/strong>is not only extremely tasty, it is also very healthy and vegan. The preparation is very easy, as you can see in the following recipe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you not only want to prepare <strong>Hummus<\/strong> but also want to serve a fresh flatbread with it, then I
